Adelaide Churches and Cathedrals

(Adelaide, South Australia - SA, Australia)

Adelaide ChurchesMost of Adelaide's churches date back to the middle of the 19th century and inject a historical character to much of the city. Especially grand is St. Peter's Cathedral, which resides on the northern side of the city and stands close to many attractions, such as the Cross of Sacrifice Memorial Gardens, the Pennington Gardens and the Adelaide Oval.

From St. Peter's, head to the south and follow King William Street to reach St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, next to Victoria Square and the Carnegie Mellon University.

Also of note locally is the North Adelaide Baptist Church (NABC), which is to be found just across from Wellington Square and is called home by a spectacular pipe organ, boasting just under 2,500 individual pipes.
