Adelaide Town Hall was built in the 1860s and features outstanding Renaissance-style architecture, with highly detailed decoration both inside and out. Located in Adelaide city centre, Adelaide Town Hall is a popular venue for functions, meetings, concerts and gala events.
Hour-long guided tours are available each Monday at 10:00 and provide a real insight into the town hall's public spaces, Civic rooms, the Queen Adelaide Room and the Colonel Light Room.

The Old Adelaide Gaol, in central Adelaide, dates back to 1878 and was finally decommissioned in 1988. Containing a hanging tower, an observation tower, stone carved faces and a large bell that was cast in 1857, other attractions at the Old Adelaide Gaol include an education centre and interesting honeycombed brickwork. On weekdays, self-guided tours with audio commentary tapes are available, and led guided tours of the Old Adelaide Gaol are conducted each Sunday. The Old Adelaide Gaol is one of Adelaide's most popular landmarks and is an interesting reminder of how criminals and convicts were treated in this area, with prison cells, numerous graves and a well-stocked gift shop.
